What Does It Really Mean to Take the Lord’s Name in Vain?

In today's society, casual phrases such as “Oh my God” or “Jesus Christ” are frequently uttered without the weighty significance they deserve. Using God’s name in a flippant or irreverent manner detracts from the holiness associated with it and diminishes the respect that should be afforded to God.
