What Does It Mean That The Devil Is A Liar

The devil is a liar means that the devil distorts facts to suit his selfish interests. There is deceit in his statements. Those who believe his words are deceived into thinking God is evil, and the devil is benevolent. The devil has always despised God and his followers and constantly dissuades as many people as possible from following God's teachings. The devil also leads innocent people to commit different sins by hiding its graveness and repercussions.

The devil also lies about the source of evil in this world. The Bible teaches us that the devil/Satan led Adam and Eve to disobey God's commandment, bringing sin into this world. Still, the devil would instead assert that God has always been harsh and unjust and that eating from the Tree of Knowledge brought enlightenment.
