Investing in the future

Sri Krishna states in Bhagavad Gita that time can make a person a king or a pauper in an instant.

There is an implicit message in this statement.

What this means is that if we live only in the present and do not care for our future, time can be cruel.

Not saving for the future makes one vulnerable to tragedies such as a disability or death of a loved one or simply fate.

In my view, one should save 25% of his income in a fund that he is unable to access for at least 10 years.

This can be a pension fund or any other fund which offers a lock-in period of at least 10 years.

In this way, impulsive decisions and emotions can be done away with.

Money will keep compounding leading to a peaceful future as far as finances are concerned.
