Why do most governments lie to us about religion?

It is not accurate to say that "most governments lie to us about religion." While there may be instances where governments have used religion as a tool to manipulate or control their citizens, it is not a universal truth. In fact, many governments around the world uphold religious freedom and protect the rights of minority religions.

Religion is a complex and deeply personal aspect of human life, and it can be the source of both great inspiration and great conflict. As such, governments must navigate a delicate balance between respecting religious diversity and ensuring the safety and security of their citizens. In some cases, this may involve limiting the public expression of certain religious beliefs or practices in order to prevent harm or violence.

However, this does not necessarily mean that governments are lying about religion. Rather, it reflects a recognition of the complexities and challenges involved in balancing religious freedom with public safety and security.
