Who Is The First Prophet In The Bible
Abraham is the first prophet in the Holy Bible, and his name is the basis of the three Abrahamic religions: Judaism, Christianity, and Islam. Abraham was born in present-day Iraq (Ur of the Chaldeans) and died in present-day Palestine (Hebron). Abraham was known for his unquestionable obedience to God. The Bible mentions that God commanded Abraham to sacrifice his son Isaac and Abraham agreed. At the time of this sacrifice, an angel of God interrupted Abraham, and Abraham sacrificed a ram instead. This place of sacrifice is known as Jehovah-Jireh.
