What does the Bible say about being lonely?

The Bible has several verses about loneliness, which reflect that God does not leave us suffering in loneliness. To understand these verses, it's essential to first know why loneliness happens. One view is that it is very lonely at the top. The other view is that the poor and downtrodden are lonely.

Loneliness is becoming more prevalent in our society today, especially in Western countries. The Bible has several verses about loneliness, which reflect that God does not leave us suffering in loneliness.

To understand these verses, it's essential to first know why loneliness happens. There are two opposite views on this subject.

One view is that it is very lonely at the top, meaning that very few people achieve success, and once they do, they find themselves alone without anyone to share their success. They may also distance themselves from others for fear of being taken advantage of.

The opposite view is that the poor, downtrodden, and very old are lonely. These people are often ignored in our society, and they yearn for help to escape their misery. They do not have the resources or strength to face the struggles of everyday life.

God addresses those who find themselves in these circumstances through several verses in the Bible. Some of these verses are:

"Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God; I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand." - Isaiah 41:10

"Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me." - Psalm 23:4

"He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds." - Psalm 147:3

These verses clearly show that God helps those who feel stuck in life and uplifts them through his mercy.
