What Does The Bible Say About Snakes

"Make a tree good, and its fruit will be good, or make a tree bad, and its fruit will be bad, for a tree is recognized by its fruit. You brood of vipers, how can you who are evil say anything good? For the mouth speaks what the heart is full of. A good man brings good things out of the good stored up in him, and an evil man brings evil things out of the evil stored up in him." - Matthew 12:33-35

Jesus identifies snakes with evil in the above verse from the Bible.

The serpent deceived Eve into eating from the tree of knowledge, thereby bringing evil to the world. So serpent is also associated with deception.

"Now the serpent was more crafty than any wild animals the Lord God had made. He said to the woman, "Did God say, 'You must not eat from any tree in the garden'?" - Genesis 3

The serpent is also associated with Satan himself in the book of revelation.

"And the great dragon was thrown down, the serpent of old who is called the devil and Satan, who deceives the whole world; he was thrown down to the earth, and his angels were thrown down with him." - Revelation 12: 9
