What does it mean to suppress the truth

Truth is something which exists. Truth is a fact.

So, suppression of truth would mean suppression of facts or not revealing the facts.

Suppression of truth is usually an offense in context of legal proceedings.

For example, a group of criminals might remove evidence of theft after their crime. This results in suppression of truth.
