What Does It Mean To Quench The Spirit

Quenching the Spirit implies extinguishing the fire of the Holy Spirit from our lives. It means rejecting the gifts of the Holy Spirit like wisdom, understanding, counsel, fortitude, fear of the Lord, knowledge, and devotion.

This happens when we are more welcoming of superficial things like money, fame and trivial pleasures like pleasures of the body and ignore spiritual cleanliness.

Quenching the Spirit takes us away from God and closer to worldly desires, which are the works of Satan.
