What does conditional love mean

Conditional love is love that is dependent upon the fulfillment of certain conditions.

For example, if a son loves his mother only because she accepts all his demands, then this is conditional love.

Another example would be a wife loving her husband only if he purchases diamond jewelry for her.

Conditional love is different from true love because true love is not dependent on any conditions.
