Who came first, Buddha or Jesus?

Given their respective life spans, it is clear that Buddha predates Jesus by several centuries. The generally accepted timeline indicates that Buddha lived from approximately 563 BCE to around 483 BCE, while Jesus lived from about 4 BCE to 30-36 CE.
