What did Arius believe about God?

Arius taught that the Son was the first and greatest of God’s creations—through whom all other things were made—but was nevertheless distinct from, and subordinate to, the Father. The Son was divine in a secondary sense, but not of the same essence (Greek: homoousios) as the Father.
