Jesus holding these keys means He is the master of life and death. He governs who enters eternal life and who faces judgment. This power flows directly from His resurrection and divinity.

“Firstborn” here doesn’t mean He was created (Colossians 1:15 clarifies Jesus as the eternal Son), but rather refers to His preeminence and rank, like the firstborn son who inherits rights and authority (Romans 8:29).
The seven churches addressed in Revelation represent the fullness of the church, not only in John’s day but throughout history. Thus, Jesus holding seven stars can be seen as a picture of his authority over the universal church in all times and places.
Warning and Promise: They warn of judgment if unrepentant and promise blessings to those who overcome.
In essence, Jesus is saying, “Yes, I am powerful and holy, but I am also your Savior and Protector.”
