Does The Bible Mention Reincarnation

Reincarnation means the rebirth of a soul into a new human body. This concept is mentioned in Hinduism and also in the Bible. In Matthew 17:10-13 Jesus instructs his disciples that John the Baptist was Elijah in his previous birth.

Jesus is believed to have resurrected on the third day after his crucifixion rather than reincarnated. So, reincarnation is not a central teaching within the Christian faith.
