Did Samson know Delilah was betraying him every time she did?

The story of Samson and Delilah is a well-known tale from the Bible, where Samson, a powerful man with supernatural strength, falls in love with Delilah, a woman who ultimately betrays him. The question that often arises is whether Samson knew that Delilah was betraying him every time she did.

The Bible does not provide a clear answer to this question. However, there are several indications that suggest Samson might have known that Delilah was betraying him. For instance, in Judges 16:15-16, Delilah asks Samson about the source of his strength, and Samson gives her a false answer. When Delilah tries to use this information to subdue him, Samson easily overpowers her. This suggests that Samson was aware of Delilah's intentions and was playing along with her to some extent.

Furthermore, when Delilah repeatedly asks Samson about the source of his strength, he eventually tells her the truth, which is that his hair has never been cut. This information ultimately leads to his downfall, as Delilah tells the Philistines, who cut his hair and capture him.

However, it is also possible that Samson was blinded by his love for Delilah and did not realize that she was betraying him. He may have believed that she genuinely cared for him and was only asking about the source of his strength out of curiosity.

Regardless of whether Samson knew that Delilah was betraying him, the story serves as a cautionary tale about the dangers of giving in to temptation. Samson's love for Delilah ultimately led to his downfall, and it is a reminder that even the strongest among us can fall prey to our weaknesses.
