Bible verse of the Day for Thursday, August 28th, 2025

But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. - Matthew 6:33

Personal Reflection

Let's face it. Life can be harsh, and the world often feels unforgiving. There are countless people who are inclined to hurt us, either deliberately or inadvertently. Because of the way our world works, it's easy to feel anxious about things that are not in our control.

Coping with Worry and Stress

Whether it's family, health, or finances, at some point in life, we are likely to feel worried. It could be a loss of a job or estranged relationships, or even acute illnesses. These things are bound to cause worry and stress. I’ve felt this deeply during a time when I was struggling with mental health issues. In this light, I would also like to quote Matthew 6:34, which states that we should not worry about tomorrow because tomorrow will worry about itself.

Seeking God First

Matthew 6:33 is pertinent because it calls us to first seek God before worrying about our circumstances. Here is the truth: God notices our worry, and he has a greater plan for us. We should let go of our worries and seek the kingdom of God and the blessings that God brings to those who surrender to God's will.

Prayer for God's Guidance

Let us pray to God and wait for him to lift the burdens from our hearts and fill our lives with peace. Prayer is a powerful tool to navigate the difficulties of our lives, and the best part is that it is available to every one of us. If you’re feeling overwhelmed today, take a moment to pause, breathe, and speak to God. He’s listening.
