The prophet Isaiah declared, “Though your sins are like scarlet, they shall be as white as snow” (Isaiah 1:18, NIV). But when Jesus died, the veil in the temple was torn in two from top to bottom, signifying that the barrier was removed (Matthew 27:51).
Hebrews 10:19-22 declares, “Therefore, brothers and sisters, since we have confidence to enter the Most Holy Place by the blood of Jesus, by a new and living way opened for us through the curtain, that is, His body... let us draw near to God with a sincere heart and with the full assurance that faith brings.” Through the blood of Jesus, every believer has the privilege of approaching God personally, with intimacy and confidence. This access is not based on human merit but on Christ’s completed work, allowing for a vibrant and ongoing relationship with the Father.
5. The Blood of Jesus Secures Victory Over the Enemy
The final purpose of the blood of Jesus we will consider is its power to secure victory over the forces of evil. The Bible teaches that Satan is the accuser of believers, seeking to remind them of their past failures and to undermine their faith. Revelation 12:11 proclaims, “They triumphed over him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony.”
The blood of Jesus is a weapon against the accusations and attacks of the enemy. It is the ultimate proof that sin has been forgiven, debts have been paid, and the authority of darkness has been broken. Through the blood, Christians can resist the devil and stand firm in their spiritual identity. The victory won by Christ is not simply a future promise but a present reality that empowers believers to live in freedom, confidence, and hope.
