Psalm 100 With Commentary
Psalm 100
A psalm. For giving grateful praise.
1 Shout for joy to the Lord, all the earth.
2 Worship the Lord with gladness;
come before him with joyful songs.
3 Know that the Lord is God.
It is he who made us, and we are his;
we are his people, the sheep of his pasture.
4 Enter his gates with thanksgiving
and his courts with praise;
give thanks to him and praise his name.
5 For the Lord is good and his love endures forever;
his faithfulness continues through all generations.
Commentary
God created this Universe in six days with his wisdom and rested on the seventh day. He is the perfect seven. He made the planets and all the creatures in them. How wonderful is the creation of the Lord. God is love. Because of these reasons, God is worthy of our respect and gratitude.
God is called 'good' in this Psalm. He is filled with heaps of goodness. It takes a supreme act of goodness to forgive humans responsible for the death of his son, Jesus Christ. It also takes the utmost amount of love to keep open the gates of heaven for humans who are guilty of the 'original sin.'
