Higher Calling

A higher calling is a mission for causes greater than oneself. These causes are godly. They are divine. They are unconditional love, heroism, patriotism, sacrifice, striving for the omega point (perfection) through continuous self-optimization, and many more. Even longing for secret knowledge-knowledge that is not easily attainable and can be acquired only through initiation is a higher pursuit.

Compare higher calling with ordinary pursuits - Money, desires of the flesh, fame, power, etc. Aren't ordinary pursuits lacking the divinity of higher pursuits? Most people are constantly striving for ordinary pursuits. Ordinary pursuits are ephemeral, hollow and one cannot achieve glory through them.

To engrave one's name in the memories of humankind, one should always yield toward a higher calling.
